Hey all! I'm really behind in blogging sessions, but am committed to keeping up in 2012! Here's the first full session post of the year, the lovely Ms. A! You might recognize her from her maternity boudoir sneak peek. I've seen Ms. A since she had her sweet little girl and let me tell you, Baby C has gotten all of her mama's good looks! She's ADORABLE! Why did you decide to book your boudoir session? Why did you choose Seriously Sexy Boudoir? When I decided to book my boudoir session I was 7 months pregnant and my husband was deployed. He hadn't seen my "seriously sexy" pregnant belly (aside from my amateur attempts at photography in our hallway mirror-not flattering!) I wanted to capture the beauty and sexiness of pregnancy. I chose Seriously Sexy Boudoir first because I saw that Leila had experience in maternity boudoir and second because Leila was such an easy person to get along with and I felt comfortable baring my big belly to her!
Did you do anything to prepare for your session? I looked a lots of boudoir photography ideas online so I had a sense of what I wanted from my session. I also went shopping for a variety of outfits and emailed Leila to get on the same page for the shoot.
How do you feel about your session experience and your images? I loved my session! I felt so empowered to show off my growing tummy and had so much fun styling my big belly! The images were amazing :) I couldn't wait to show them to my husband when he returned from deployment. They are very special and I even have one (more modest) image hanging in my daughter's nursery.
How was it having your makeup professionally done by Kristine Marie Artistry and your hair styled by Hair by Alice? I felt so pampered and taken care of :) They really listened to what I wanted from my shoot and I felt like a more glamorous version of myself! I would totally recommend having hair and make up done by someone else. Not only does it just add to the special experience, it really adds to the overall image you are trying to achieve by your shoot. I loved just showing up and feeling like the "star of the show".
Any thoughts or advice for ladies who are thinking about having a session, but aren't quite sure if they're ready or brave enough? My mantra was "what guy is NOT going to love a picture of a woman in lingerie?!?!" It can be intimidating at first, but if a pregnant lady can do it and feel comfortable, anybody can! It's quite liberating, in fact!
Of the entire experience, what were your two favorite things that you loved the most? I loved the actual shoot- finding cute clothes, styling the shoot, posing (I felt like a model!) and then getting the images. It was so fun seeing myself in a totally different light. You don't get to feel so glamourous on a daily basis. (at least I don't!)
Would you recommend the Seriously Sexy experience to other women? Why or why not? Definitely! Leila is 100% professional while making you feel at ease and confident. It's a beautiful and sexy way to celebrate your body and you will LOVE your images. Great to look back on them when you're 80 years old and say "Wow- I was seriously sexy!" ;)
