As I mention pretty frequently, my client's privacy and comfort are so very important to me. Each client is asked if she's comfortable sharing any of her images on the website, but often, my ladies either aren't comfortable doing so or have other reasons for wanting their images to be private. Of course, this is ALWAYS totally fine with me! Today, I'm lucky enough to be able to feature Ms. D's thoughts about her session! Thanks so much for sharing, Ms. D!!
Why did you decide to book your boudoir session? Why did you choose Seriously Sexy Boudoir? I had been intrigued by doing a boudoir session for awhile, and when a Groupon came up for SSB, I looked through the photos on the website, which were stunning, and decided to bite the bullet. I was hoping (and still intend) to make them into a deployment gift for my wife.
How do you feel about your session experience and your images? I never thought I'd feel so comfortable being photographed almost naked! :) But really, my session was completely relaxed and comfortable. I had fun, got a workout, and you (Leila) were so great at putting me at ease, giving me feedback, and keeping the energy up in the room. My images are beautiful - they make me feel so happy and confident and really thankful that I did the session.
If you opted for it, how was it having your hair and makeup professionally done by Markia Nicole? Would you recommend to other ladies to have the professional hair and/or makeup as well? I rarely wear makeup, and I don't do much with my hair, so I decided to splurge and get my hair and makeup done. It was a fun way to get pampered before the shoot, and a way to ease into the session. I would definitely recommend getting the hair and makeup services. It takes the pressure off having to create your own look, and it's something I think is done really well by professionals. The look I got was one I wouldn't have been able to do myself.
How do you look in your portraits compared to how you normally look in photos? Very different. The photos are definitely more bombshell-looking, where I normally look very casual, little to no makeup, etc. But I think it's different in a fun, good way. And even though I feel like I look different, I still look like me. And that was something that was very important to me - I wanted to be sexy and have fun but not look like an entirely different person.
Do you feel like the images and service you received from Seriously Sexy Boudoir was worth what you paid for it? How so? Definitely. I got a great deal on Groupon, but from our first consultation to the photo shoot to the viewing of my images to receiving my prints, I felt taken care of, by professionals, and I had fun.
Any thoughts or advice for ladies who are thinking about having a session, but aren't quite sure if they're ready or brave enough? I was super nervous before I met Leila, but really, after I met her, my nerves went away. Give yourself some time to buy lingerie, especially if you don't currently own any or aren't used to wearing any. I bought a corset right off the bat, came home, tried it on, and felt weird about it. A corset looks amazing, but it wasn't me. So I went back to the drawing board and picked things that are me: a ballet skirt, an apron, my wife's uniform jacket. I went with the kinds of bras and panties I wear on a regular basis (though a bit more lace for the va-va-voom factor). So be you. Be organic to who you are and what you (and your partner, perhaps) like. Spring for a mani-pedi. Get the hair and makeup services done. Bring a snack for your shoot (I was starving after mine). Trust Leila - she's fantastic. And above all, have fun.
Would you recommend the Seriously Sexy experience to other women? Why or why not? Absolutely - I sort of want all my friends to do it so we can all be in on this secret. It's a great time, in a cool location, and Leila's a fantastic photographer. I can't praise it enough.
